Falling For A Dancer(1998)

Plot:

 

Set in rural Ireland in the 1930's this romantic drama has been adapted from the best-selling novel by Deirdre Purcell.

When 19-year-old Elizabeth (Elisabeth Dermot-Walsh) has a brief fling with an actor she falls pregnant. However due to the times family disgust and community pressure forces her to marry - and they don't care whether she loves him or not, in fact they think that she should be lucky that anyone wants soiled goods.

However her husband turns out to be a dull middle-aged man, but maybe there is hope on the horizon.
