ACCESS HOLLYWOOD INTERVIEW

Farrell on Fatherhood - AccessHollywood - Thanks Kathryn

Colin Farrell's film Phone Booth opened in theaters on April 4. It's the first movie he is carrying all by himself. Access Hollywood's Billy Bush sat down in New York for an interview with the Irish bad boy. Hollywood's wildest bachelor talked about his impending fatherhood.

Billy Bush: You're going to be a father. Does your life change?

Colin Farrell: I'll tell you in six months.

Billy: Do you envision yourself going out and having fun and doing what you want?

Colin: Yeah, yeah… I'm going to be working as well and fortunately I'm having a child with an amazing woman. We're going to figure it out as we go. We will bring the child up in love and make sure it's as safe as it can possibly be. That's the only thing I'm sure of in me 26 years.

Billy: It's very respectable. I don't know if you give yourself that kind of credit, but we've heard stories of someone getting news like that and as a 26-year-old you might run, hide, or deny.

Colin: There were some very, very interesting suggestions and possibilities that were offered up and how it should be dealt with.

Billy: Can you give me one of them?

Colin: You can guess.

Billy: What was your first reaction to the news?

Colin: I just knew I wanted to have it. I was f****** smiling from ear-to-ear. It's nerve racking for sure. Jesus Christ, me, I'm a big f****** child myself, man. I'm a mess half the time, myself. I'm the luckiest little bastard in the world. F*** all these red carpets and premieres and s***, I'm bringing a child into the world.

Billy: Here's the scenario: the baby you're having is a girl, it's 24 years from now...

Colin: Ooh s***!

Billy: She comes to you and says, 'Dad, I'm pregnant. The father smokes, he loves to drink, he loves to party, he's a wild man, he loves the ladies and I'm not marrying him. What do you say?

Colin: I put my arms around her and tell her I love her and that it's all going to be fine.
