A group of Dutch CFF members traveled to Bruges twice in March. These are thier stories about the trips and meeting Colin. The Admins at CFF are very proud that they respected the fact that Colin was working and didn't go out of the way to bother him. We know that we appreciate that..am sure that Colin appreciated it as well..as was evidenced by his signing the things that they left at his hotel.
Thanks Laura, Tess, Nell and Ozzy for being such good representatives of CFF and all of Colin's fans!

Tess's Story: We arrived in on the train station of Brugge... we parked the car there and
get on the bus to the center.... when we arrived at the market we got out of the
bus.... but saw that they were shooting the film there (didnt know that colin
was there yet!!!) Laura's Story:
Well like Tess said we arrived on the set
without noticing it was HIS set!! We heard someone saying: "colin is over
there." We saw him and went like:
*GASP!* Oh my god!! *dives in bags, took out banners, flag and Irish hat* Ok let's do it!! *shows the stuff* And I saw Colin looking at my banner (can't remember which one) he rubbed over his chin, talking to a dude besides him maybe going like: "shall we go to them?"and then he came to us!!! He went to me but moved over to Nell. She shook hands, chatted and I was like 2 steps away from him. Flashes everywhere!!! Then he left and Nell went like *swoon* *looks around* May I fall on the bags?" Tess or Ozzy: "Sure!" Nell; "Ok thanks!" Me: *eyes popping out* Nell: *stands up* "Ok sorry, I HAD to do that." And then we went to the hostel to drop our bags and stuff. After that we went to an irish pub. The next day we went to have a walk through Bruges and on the night we went to the set again. AND HE SAW US AGAIN!!!! He waved *sigh* he smiled at us *sigh again* OMG!!! SO FUCKING FRIENDLY!!! Then he went off and we heard someone saying the name of his hotel. So we went to there but we got informed that he wasn't there. We could leave our stuff to let it sign. The guy was friendly to do that for us!! Again we went to the pub and then to our hostel. The next day, after breakfast, we went to his hotel to pick our stuff up. We went there with the idea: "he was toooo tired to sign it!!" So we get to the desk, said that we came to pick our stuff. When Nell got her Alexander DVD she went like: *GASP* OH MY GOD!! I opened my book (A Home At The End Of The world) and on a page he wrote: " Dear Laura, Thank you so much for the support, was nice meeting you. All the best. his autograph. I will make a picture of it soon Hopefully he looooves the candy that I gave to him as a gift. so that was my story in a quick way
Nell's Story : What can I say? What CAN I say? Are there words? Words to describe how Colin is so divine and at the same time so human? I don't know. But I can at least give it a try. We arrived in Bruges on Friday by car, and parked the car outside the city centre. Then we took the bus to the city centre, so we could go to our hostel. But at a certain point while we were sitting in the bus, I suddenly saw something that looked an aweful lot like a film set. And just a few seconds after that, the bus stopped. We got out of the bus and decided to see what was going on and join the small but definately decent crowd that was watching the set. I remember asking a woman "Is Colin Farrell here?", and I remember her saying "Yes, he's right there! He's got his arm around that girl, you see? They're doing a kissing scene." Seing Colin in the flesh for the first time, no matter from what distance, is so special. I can't describe the feeling, even if I wanted to, but I'd be close if I said that when that happens, your entire body wants to scream "I LOVE YOU!" at him. Luckily we were able to keep reasonably calm, even when he started walking towards us. I just had my cousin on the phone, whom I had promised that I'd ask Colin if he'd say "hi" if I met him. I remember this conversation so vividly. Colin came closer and closer, and I just froze up. I hadn't counted on finding him at all, let alone finding him the moment we stepped out of the bus. Here's the dialogue between me and Colin: Nell: "Hi, I'm Nell." (with a very sheepish, pale, shocked face) Then he greeted the others and had to go because the crowd was closing in - I can understand how someone who is actually aware of their environment at such a moment can even become claustrophobic. Lucky I wasn't aware of my environment and my brain had just tuned out As he walked away I - completely instinctively (I still don't know where that came from!) - yelled "I REALLY LOVED ALEXANDER!" he turned and looked but had to walk on. Of course we got insanely lucky on day one. I mean, stepping out of the bus and having Colin walk towards you within 1 minute is pretty insane. Luck of the Irish? We now had 2 out of the 4 things we wanted. A picture of Colin and having met Colin, even if it was briefly - short but sweet. Can I just say he is the kindest man that is walking the Earth's surface? He's kind, he's generous, and fuck he's funny, too! As you've read with Tess and Lau, we managed to get the objects we wanted signed by Colin into the hotel. For me it was my Alexander DVD; my favourite film. This morning we went to pick those things up at the hotel and Colin had signed them! We had been allowed to leave a note/letter to Colin with the objects so he could read them. Afterwards, I regret the content of my note somewhat. I was so busy apologizing for acting like an idiot and praying out loud we hadn't bothered him that I forgot to tell him what an amazing actor he is Will I ever forgive myself? We were told later that Colin had come 'home' (to the hotel, that is) late from work, but had really, really taken the time to read our letters and sign our things. This means so much, my gratitude is endless. He signed my Alexander dvd twice (lord knows why but you don't hear me complaining ) - on the cover it says "To Nell - Good luck and much love, Colin xxxxxx" and on the inside it says "To Nell, so nice to meet you love Colin" I really do want to type more and say more about this, about what Colin's like, about how it is to see him in the flesh, how it feels to have your dvd personally signed... but I can't right now. To be honest I'm ready to fall asleep for at least 24 hours (bye bye re-sit). Is it OK if I update my story later? What I just want to say - and I promise that after that my rant is over; Colin is every wonderful thing you think he is. He really is. And YES he is even sexier in the flesh (I didn't know that was possible!) and YES his voice and accent are to DIE FOR and yes his handshake is very pleasant... and yes he's fantastic in general From what I've seen he's done nothing but smiled at us - we've done our best not to bother him in any way. He started recognizing us pretty quickly and even smiled and waved at us. I will never forget that. It was totally worth fucking up my re-sit for Tess' Story: I didnt want to tell my story earlier, just in case there were too many lunatics in Bruge, who could harm Colin or the others who are involved with the movie... but here it is: We arrived on friday evening in Bruge.... there was no filming outside that evening, so we went to the Hostel.... then straight to the pub. We found out where they were shooting the next day... so we went to that shooting place on saturday.... in our outfits.... after an hour waiting or something like that.... an coach of the Extra's walked over to us.... he asked us if we wanted to be an extra.... so ofcourse we said yes...without the special outfits ofcourse... so YES!!!!! we will be in the movie we had to walk behind Colin... and in front of Colin We were working for about 4 or 5 hours as an extra... and got paid for it as well... (seriously didnt expect that). after that we went to the pub... On sunday.... after waking up at 1 in the afternoon... we went for some brunch (pancakes)... then straight to the pub... (there was no shooting on that day)... dunno what time it was, but we bought a bottle of wine for the receptionist of the hotel... for the guy who managed the signed things for us... just to thank him... and went back to the hostel.... On monday morning (March 5th 2007) we had to check out before 10am... so that was a short nite.... but they started filming early as well... so we got some breakfast and went to the set dressed up in our outfits. at the same moment... Brandon got out of the car... we met his assistant/driver on saturday... and teached him some Dutch (naughty things tho) so he recognised us and waved at us... and he gave Nell an signed photo for her cousin.... and he still knew the Dutch words. Then the Jordan and his assistant came to the set... and he managed a piccy of us with Jordan. after the pic was taken... Jordan said... Colin is coming later as well. after that Brandon walked over to us... so he gave us a hand... and asked us: where ur from? I said: from Holland, so Brandon started laughing and said: No way, ur kidding That was nice after about half an hour/an hour...Colin arrived. we were waiting outside in the freezing cold for about 8 hours... then Colin's assistant walked over to us... and told us... that we could make a piccy with him at the car or if they jumped in and drove off... we could get a piccy at the hotel. Then we went to the hotel... there was paparrazzi outside... but we went in there and the member of CFF parked her car right in front of the hotel, so she could see the lobby from her seat... then she got out of the car... and waited with the paparrazzi... then she saw us (we met her 2 weeks ago) and walked in...she asked us if we were waiting for Colin... we said no, and we told her that we were invited by someone else....(which is true )... then she handed over the Miami Vice DVD that she had given to the receptionist to sign it... then she went outside again... and followed the paparrazzi... at that moment Colin walked into the lobby... (she missed it)... and we could make a piccy of us with him he gave us a hug and a kiss as well .... then we left... and she came back.... she asked us if we saw him.... unfortunatly we said yes to her... wish that we said no... then it was time for a couple drinks... and saying bye to 1 the crew members. It felt so relaxed!! but thats because Colin was relaxed as well (prob just very very tired and cold, but he was very nice)... Laura's Story: Ok...here's my part of the invading. I've been in a big doubt of publicing this or not, but I'm doing it anyways. First, I was soooo happy after that weekend, I maybe forgot the most of it, so forgive me with that! On Saturday, the 2nd day of the weekend, my career as an actrice has made a start We were just standing along the set, watching Colin and the rest while they were doing their work. Suddenly a guy came to us and asked us if we wanted to be an extra. Of course we said yes. We have worked for like 4-5 hours and something funny happened on set. Colin and Brendan Gleeson were sitting on a bench doing a scene, when a horse took a pee. It went like this: *Colin doing his lines* *heard the horse peeing* It was sooo funny to hear him laughing! It was soooo cute!! you could hear his laugh in whole Bruges! So cute!! On Sunday we just chilled. Slept the most of the day, because we went to bed very late. On Monday we went to another set. Then we saw Brendan Gleeson arriving. After a few moments he came to us and we received a handshake from him and a little chat. We also met Jordan, a little cute dude We went on a picture with him. We stood in the cold for like 7 till 8 hours and Antony, the assistent of Colin, came to us and said: "You're all madness to stand here in the cold!!" Oh what we won't do for Colin Farrell!! And then he said, "We will give it a try to arrange a picture here or in the hotel." Then he left. After a few more hours they went to the car and Anthony signed "hotel" so un-noticed for the other people, we went slowly to the hotel. There were some papparazzi's....GOD they were annoying!! Anyways...we have waited for a minute or 15, the papparazzi got distracted and a minute later, Anthony and Colin came!!! Oh my goodness.....he's soooo kind!! I though: OK...handshake, picture and that's it!!" But were lines up like this: Nell, me, Tess and Ozzy. So Nell received first a handshake and a kiss on the cheek! I was like oh my!! So he came to me gave a handshake, he leaned over to me and before I knew it, I gave him a kiss on the cheek!! I KISSED HIS CHEEK!!! Same thing happed to Tess...and now a fun part! He went to Ozzy shook his hand and said something like: "kiss?" and gave him 2 kisses in the air! But then he and Oz went like, naaaaah and shook each other hands. Oh people, colin Farrell has HUMOUR!!!! We were laughing!! He's funny!! Then we went to the pub, got some drinks and we had such fun we forgot time!!! We left Bruges at 10pm and I was home at 12:45am. I wanna thank Tess, Nell and Ozzy for this great weekend!!! And thank you to Colin and Anthony for the time and the picture!! You both are very gratefull to me! Nell's Story Out of respect for Colin's privacy we announced the day we came back from Bruges that we would wait with posting stories until the 24th of March - the day the cast and crew leave Bruges. That day is today, and though the day isn't over yet I'm sure it's safe now. The day we came back there was some commotion in the social thread, which kind of changed the situation - I think for all of us. There is no bitterness towards other members from my part, but I can't deny my feelings about posting my story simply changed then and have remained that way. This is why I will keep it basic. Just like Mary we in fact don't have the keys to 'The' Fort Knox... but whatever we have the keys to, it is Fort Knox to me, and you're just going to have to respect that. Just like I respect that it isn't Fort Knox to you - in which case you shouldn't worry about them keys in the first place. You can think of us or me whatever you want. But fact was and still is that you weren't there and haven't seen the things we saw, so just keep that in mind before you judge. Anyway On to the story! We went to Bruges for the second time with absolutely no expectations. I mean, how lucky had we been the first time? Insanely! We'd met Colin briefly (when he came up to us, probably under the impression we were Irish... sorry Colin ) and we had gotten our things signed - what more could we ask? We were basically going because we'd had such a good time the last time and that was our only goal the second time - to have a good time. If Colin came with that package - awesome! But he'd been more than generous enough in our opinion! But we got lucky again! Maybe the luck of the Irish rubbed off on us, I have no idea, but it was all very amazing! On Saturday we were asked to be extras in a scene with Colin and Brendan Gleeson. They were sitting on a bench and we were just watching them and suddenly we were asked if we wanted to be extras... emm... I think the question is "Are you sure you want us to be extras?" Apparently, yes! We did that for about four hours or maybe five, I'm not sure. Any time feels short when you're around Colin Farrell We just walked up and down the square and streets a bit, it was nice. Funny thing is; once you do that, suddenly, it all becomes 'normal' - if you know what I mean? I mean, getting paid to walk by a bench Colin is sitting on kind of changes your attitude We were very professional, and that's not my selective memory! You kind of 'get used to it' in a weird way - though ofcourse afterwards that wore off and we were all crazy again We went out on Saturday night and Sunday was a quiet day with no filming. So we just hung out and had a good time by ourselves. Monday was a long shooting day on the Market Square. We must have stood there for... what - seven, eight hours? And fuck was it cold! Surely the mini skirts didn't help... but it was too late to change and in the morning it had looked so sunny and warm. Weather's a funny fucker. Anyway, we froze our asses off for those seven or eight hours while watching Colin work. But again the law of nature I mentioned before can be applied: any time feels short when you're around Colin. And it was just generally fascinating to see how a movie is made. During the day we met Brendan Gleeson (what a nice guy! He was extremely amused by the fact that we weren't Irish but were wearing Irish gear ) and Jordan Prentice (he's so sweet and friendly! No wonder girls love him he seems very easy to love ) and around the sixth hour of us standing there we were invited to the hotel for a picture with Colin after the filming by one of "Colin's people" (with Colin's full permission, that is). So we met him at the hotel for a picture - and the picture you've seen He was very very nice. I mean, he'd been working in the freezing cold for six hours straight and I think he had to work some more that evening... he could have just said 'no' and we would have understood (honestly). We got a kiss and hug (not Ozzy, though he went like 'nahhh' ) and a picture and then Colin was like "I've seen you before..." Well DUH we were kind of hard to miss Sorry about that, Colin! Anyway, I said "Yeah, we were here two weeks ago... with the hats and the feathered boas and..." and he remembered and seemed quite amused He thanked us for the support (I think... he said SOMETHING nice but it's all kind of a blurry mess in my head ), told us he still thought we were crazy Why thank you! No but seriously, the fact that he could just say that to us makes me happy because it means he realizes we don't take ourselves too seriously And then he had to go. I'd like to thank Ozzy, Lau and Tess for the amazing weekend - I feel it's our 'team effort' () and good spirits that made the weekend so amazing. None of these things would have happened and been so amazing if it hadn't been the four of us together And the fact that we were able to laugh at ourselves (all of us - and that's so important) and that we were able to have a good time regardless of Colin's presence is what made these weekends unforgettable. Awwww I'm feeling American Big hug you guys!!! Also I want to thank Colin and everyone else we met that weekend for their generosity and kindness. And thanks for thinking we're crazy but knowing we weren't all that retarded We don't look like that all the time, you know Colin's been more than generous to us and I hope that he knows we were in Bruges first and foremost to show support and love - not groupie love, honest fan love Now all that's left for us to do is wait a year (oh my god) until the film is released so we can sit in the theatre and scream when we see ourselves walk by And then wait another six months until the dvd is released so we can watch the deleted scenes if we weren't in the film I'm counting down the days already
