We here at Colin Farrell Fansite have always loved Colin’s mum, Rita, and so we are very happy to hear about her upcoming June marriage to movie producer Joel Michaels.

Mr Michaels seems to a bit camera shy, as we were not able to find a photo of him anywhere!

Ms Farrell is said to be “over the moon” in the run-up to the big day, which will be attended by her sons Colin and Eamon and her daughters Claudine and Catherine Farrell.

The June wedding will be attended by only a close-knit circle of family and friends, who will fly to Los Angeles for the private ceremony.

“Everyone is delighted for Rita. She is incredibly happy and it’s going to be a very special day out for the whole family,” said a source close to the actor.

“Colin is extremely close to his mother and he is delighted she has found love again after so many years. It’s a new chapter for in her life.

“She separated from Colin’s father many years ago but going out again in Hollywood to parties with Colin has given her a new lease of life.”

The pair are said to have been introduced to each other at a party in LA and surprised everyone by falling so quickly for one another.

As the well-placed source explained: “They’ve been dating for over a year at this stage. My thoughts are they will eventually settle down in Hollywood but they are very, very private about the whole thing.”
